No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof.Prospective bidders are encouraged to review the contract documents and project location to become familiar with the existing conditions prior to submitting their bid. A pre-bid meeting/site visit will take place on Thursday, October 22 at 10:00 AM. Interested bidders shall meet at the Bartlet Mall located at 153 Auburn Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. The bidding and award of this contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L Chapter 30, 39M. A Payment Bond of an amount equal to 50 per cent of the total amount of the bid with a surety company satisfactory to the City, as surety, will be required for the Payment for all labor and materials used in the work.Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid as determined by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of Massachusetts General laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive.Contract award is subject to the approval of the Mayor. The City reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids or take whatever other action may be deemed necessary to be in the best interest of the City.
