Description

The Alabama Department of Mental Health is issuing a competitive grant to fund opioid‑related prevention, treatment, or recovery‑support services under the Opioid Settlement Grant Program (Round 4, FY 2027). Applicants may propose one project in a single category (Prevention, Treatment, or Recovery Support) and must be a public or private nonprofit that is ADMH‑certified (or can become certified within four months). Funding is limited to $75 k for prevention, $350 k for treatment, and $150 k for recovery support, with a total pool of $8.93 million. Proposals must include a program narrative, budget, and required certifications, and must be submitted in hard‑copy (original + two copies) plus a USB drive by August 24, 2026 2 PM. Selected vendors will begin services within 120 days of contract execution and must submit monthly performance and financial reports. • Three mutually exclusive service categories (Prevention, Treatment, Recovery Support) with distinct award caps. • Eligibility limited to nonprofit organizations that are ADMH‑certified or can achieve certification quickly; state employees and entities with large balances from prior rounds are prohibited. • Award amounts up to $350 k, indirect costs allowed up to 15 %, and a 12‑month project horizon with mandatory monthly reporting.

Budget estimate

$75,000 – $350,000

The solicitation caps awards at $75 k for prevention, $150 k for recovery support, and $350 k for treatment. Assuming the client pursues a treatment‑focused project (the highest‑value category), the potential budget could range from a low of $75 k (if only a prevention project is pursued) up to $350 k for a full‑scale treatment grant. The estimate also considers typical grant overhead (up to 15 % indirect costs) and the 12‑month project period.
