Description

The US Coast Guard is seeking sources to provide fitness instructors for the Future Sentinel Preparatory Course (FSPC) at the USCG Training Center Cape May. The FSPC is a three-week course designed to assist civilian volunteers in overcoming physical fitness and body composition challenges that may prevent them from pursuing a career in the Coast Guard. The fitness instructors will provide structured fitness instruction and nutritional guidance to recruits, ensuring safe and effective progression toward meeting Coast Guard physical fitness and body composition standards. The instructors will focus on improving recruits' cardiovascular capacity, muscular strength, and endurance to meet Basic Recruit Training requirements. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing fitness training sessions, including cardiovascular exercises, strength training, flexibility exercises, and endurance workouts • Conducting fitness assessments to determine the baseline fitness levels of FSPC students and track their progress throughout the program • Providing guidance on proper nutrition and lifestyle habits to support overall health and fitness goals • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, fitness assessments, and program outcomes • Collaborating with other FSPC staff members to ensure the seamless integration of fitness training into the overall program curriculum
