Description

The City of Bridgeport is seeking bids for automobile repairs on an as-needed basis for the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. The contract will cover repairs for small autos, pickups, and vans for all City agencies, including the Board of Education. Bidders must have a repair shop facility located in Bridgeport or the surrounding area and be licensed by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. The City is looking for firm fixed labor rates and pricing information for repairs, and the contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder whose bid is most advantageous to the City. • The contract will be for a period of 1 year, with the possibility of 2 additional 1-year extensions. • The City will deliver and pick up vehicles from the contractor's facility. • The contractor must hold all parts removed and replaced during the rebuilding process for inspection. • The contractor is responsible for obtaining and paying for any required permits. • The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and the contract award will be based on factors such as cost, lead time, equipment availability, and other factors specified in the solicitation.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

Given the nature of the contract, which involves automobile repairs on an as-needed basis, it is difficult to estimate the exact budget. However, considering the City's requirement for firm fixed labor rates and pricing information, the budget is likely to be based on the number of repairs performed and the rates agreed upon. Assuming an average labor rate of $50 per hour and an average repair time of 2 hours per vehicle, the budget for a single repair could be around $100. With the possibility of multiple repairs and the contract's duration of 1 year, the total budget could range from $50,000 to $200,000, depending on the number of vehicles repaired and the actual labor rates and repair times.
