LRT Wheel Measurement System

The Metropolitan Council is seeking a vendor to deliver, install, and commission a complete Light Rail Transit (LRT) Wheel Measurement System for the Minneapolis‑Twin Cities light‑rail network. The system will be placed at the intersection of Norm McGrew Place and 4th Street and must be capable of measuring wheels on both the Blue Line and Green Line vehicles, providing accurate diagnostics for maintenance and safety. The scope includes supplying all hardware and software components, performing on‑site installation, conducting functional testing and calibration, training Metropolitan Council staff, and delivering full documentation and support. • Provide a turnkey Wheel Measurement System (hardware, software, sensors, data acquisition). • Install the system at the designated Minneapolis site and integrate it with existing LRT infrastructure. • Commission the system – test, calibrate, and verify measurement accuracy for Blue and Green Line vehicles. • Deliver training, operation manuals, and ongoing technical support to the Council’s maintenance team. • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, technical, and regulatory standards.
