Description

The US Coast Guard is seeking a contractor to provide buoy placement and operations services at the Unalakleet River entrance in Alaska. The contract will involve preparing, mooring, maintaining, removing, and storing six Coast Guard-furnished buoys. The contractor will be required to have local knowledge of the area and be able to respond to unplanned and emergency support within a 48-hour time period. The contract will have a base period of performance from August 15, 2026, to May 31, 2027, with four one-year option periods. • The contractor will be responsible for installing and removing the buoys, as well as performing maintenance and repair tasks as needed. • The contractor will be required to provide a firm-fixed price for the entire effort, with payments made in three installments: 30% for preparing and installing the buoys, 50% for maintaining and removing the buoys, and 20% for storing and turning over the buoys to the next year's contractor. • The contractor will be required to notify the Coast Guard of any issues or problems with the buoys, and to provide a marked chart showing the locations of the buoys.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this contract is not explicitly stated, but based on the scope of work and the requirements, it is likely to be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000 per year. This estimate is based on the fact that the contract involves providing buoy placement and operations services for six buoys, and the contractor will be required to have local knowledge of the area and be able to respond to unplanned and emergency support within a 48-hour time period.
