Youth Action Board Backbone Agency

The Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation (RIHousing) is seeking a Youth Action Board (YAB) backbone agency to support the establishment and maintenance of a YAB that advises the Rhode Island Continuum of Care (RICoC) and its programs on their commitment to meeting the needs of youth and young adults experiencing housing instability and/or homelessness. The selected agency will be responsible for recruiting and training YAB members, developing a work plan, and providing ongoing support and guidance to the YAB. The agency will work in partnership with the RICoC Collaborative Applicant Staff at RIHousing. Key responsibilities include establishing a structure for the YAB, recruiting eligible young people, providing education and training to YAB members, and identifying opportunities for YAB members to contribute their expertise to CoC programs. • Developing a YAB membership structure and compensation plan • Recruiting and training YAB members • Developing a work plan and schedule for YAB activities • Providing ongoing support and guidance to the YAB • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including the RICoC and CoC programs • Developing a plan for YAB member leadership development and teambuilding • Managing and facilitating YAB meetings and providing stipends to YAB members
