The Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development has adopted new occupational licensing fee structures for certified direct‑entry midwives, apprentice direct‑entry midwives, and concert promoters. The regulations (12 AAC 02.145 and 12 AAC 02.170) set initial certification and application fees, biennial renewal fees, and non‑refundable application fees, effective September 16 2026. The changes were filed with the Lieutenant Governor’s office and will appear in Register 259, October 2026. • New fee schedule for direct‑entry midwives: $500 initial certification, $2,800 biennial renewal, $250 apprentice permit. • New fee schedule for concert promoters: $100 non‑refundable application, $100 certificate fee, $100 renewal fee. • Effective date: 9/16/2026; published 8/18/2026. • No additional appropriations required; public comment period received no responses. • Relevant statutes: AS 08.01.062, AS 08.01.065, AS 08.65.100, AS 08.92.020.
