2026 Benefit Broker Services

The City of Lawrence is seeking a benefit brokerage service to provide consulting and brokerage services for the City's employee benefits program. The selected vendor will be responsible for designing benefit plans, negotiating with insurance carriers, and providing account management services. The vendor will also be required to provide employee education and communication services, including the development of customized open enrollment brochures and digital presentations. The City is looking for a vendor that can provide a comprehensive and cost-effective benefits program that meets the needs of its employees. Some key aspects of the job include: • Designing benefit plans with all parties involved • Quarterly reviews and regular meetings with carriers • Long-term planning for healthcare and wellness plans • Development of annual or multi-year calendars • Marketing, negotiation, consulting, and implementation of various insurances and benefits • Account management services, including handling relationships with insurance providers and ensuring that services meet employee needs • Employee communication and education services, including the development of customized open enrollment brochures and digital presentations • Health and wellness consultation services, including the design of benefit plans that encompass various aspects of employee well-being • Medical plan design management, including evaluating different plan options and negotiating with insurers • Financial analytics, including tracking loss ratios and comparing year-to-date figures • Predictive modeling and claims data analytics, including the development of predictive models to assess risk to the City • Prescription drug program management, including the analysis of PBM contracts and negotiation of PBM contracts
