Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP)

• Program Purpose: Funding to support rape crisis centers and nonprofits providing direct intervention services to sexual assault victims • Eligible Applicants: - Rape crisis centers - Nonprofit organizations - Tribal nonprofit organizations - Must be in Arkansas • Required Service Components: 1. 24-hour crisis hotline services 2. Accompaniment/advocacy through medical, criminal justice, and social support systems 3. Crisis intervention and support services for victims and non-offending family members 4. Community-based culturally/linguistically specific services for underserved communities 5. Development and distribution of related service materials • Grant Period: October 1 - September 30 (annual cycle) • Funding Source: Federal funding through Violence Against Women Act (VAWA 2005) • Key Requirements: - Must provide direct intervention services - Must serve sexual assault victims regardless of age - Must demonstrate ability to provide culturally specific services - Services must be nonprofit, nongovernmental in nature
