J--Notice of Intent to Sole Source for ThermoFisher Scientific FEI Company’s servi

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis to ThermoFisher Scientific FEI Company for the service maintenance agreement of Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEMs). The SEMs include the SEM FEG QUANTA and Quanta 450, along with the Nav-Cam 450. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintains proprietary information on the system designs, service procedures, electron optics, attachments, and calibration methods, making them the only vendor capable of providing this service. • The service maintenance agreement is for the Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEMs) listed above. • The OEM is the only vendor capable of providing this service due to proprietary information. • The replacement parts must be obtained from the OEM to ensure satisfactory operation of the equipment. • Interested parties that believe they can meet the NETL requirement must provide evidence of their capability by May 21, 2026, 5:00 PM ET.
