Tower Safety Improvements Design Project

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is seeking qualified engineering firms to develop an updated design package for safety improvements to two gate tower structures (North Fork of Smith Dam and Nevada Creek Dam). The work involves evaluating existing designs, ensuring OSHA compliance, and producing new plans, specifications, and cost estimates for ladder safety, fall‑protection, lighting, power receptacles, and personnel retrieval systems. The solicitation is qualification‑based only; no pricing is required at this stage. • Evaluate current tower designs for ladder safety, fall‑arrest, lighting, power, and rescue equipment. • Produce updated PS&E (Plans, Specifications, & Estimates) compliant with OSHA and relevant codes. • Provide up to 20 hours of technical assistance during the bid phase and another 20 hours during construction. • Submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) via the e‑MACS portal by 5 May 2026 – 29 May 2026.
