Vista Greenway Spur Design Services

The City of Columbia is seeking qualified consultants to provide comprehensive design services for the Vista Greenway Spur, a new multi‑use trail segment. The scope includes preliminary surveys, geotechnical investigations, historic and cultural research, development of interpretive signage, public outreach, security and lighting design, and coordination with city infrastructure. The consultant must be prepared to address variable construction methods (at‑grade vs. elevated), incorporate security measures, and evaluate lighting options, including potential lease arrangements. The effort will culminate in a set of construction‑ready design documents for the greenway spur. • Conduct land surveys and define survey limits. • Perform geotechnical studies adaptable to multiple construction scenarios. • Research and develop historic/cultural interpretation panels. • Organize and support at least one public input meeting (city‑provided venue). • Design security features (cameras, call boxes) and lighting solutions. • Coordinate utility and power requirements for trail structures. • Deliver complete design package ready for construction bidding.
