Description

The West Virginia Purchasing Division is soliciting bids for the replacement of 4,000 crossties and gage installed ties on the West Virginia Central Railroad (WVCR). The successful vendor will be responsible for furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to complete the construction services. The project requires the vendor to replace crossties between two sections of the railroad, install new ties, and spike them to a gage of 56 ½ inches. The vendor must also remove and dispose of old ties and debris. Key requirements and considerations for this project include: • Replacement of 4,000 crossties between MP12.0-MP17.0 and MP 28.0-MP 33.0 • Installation of new ties, spiked to a gage of 56 ½ inches • Removal and disposal of old ties and debris • Compliance with AREMA specifications and standards • Coordination with the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad (operator of the WVCR) for material delivery and work schedule • Provision of all necessary materials, including new ties, tie plugs, and spikes • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the contract and project plans
