Dewatering and Thickening Polymer

The City of Lincoln is seeking bids for the supply of Liquid Dewatering and Thickening Polymer for the Theresa Street and Northeast Water Resource Recovery Facilities. The contract will require the supply of approximately 325,000 lbs of active polymer annually. The polymer will be used for dewatering and thickening processes at the facilities. The city is looking for a vendor who can provide a polymer that meets the minimum performance requirements, which include cake solids greater than 22% with 95% minimum solids capture rate for dewatering and solids greater than 5% with 95% minimum solids capture rate for thickening. The vendor will be required to provide onsite technical assistance as needed and comply with the Chemical Delivery Spill Control Requirements. • The contract will be awarded based on the lowest bid price per pound, pounds of polymer per dry ton, and the performance degree of dewatering and thickening obtained from the field trials. • The vendor must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting and obtain samples of the digested anaerobic sludge for bench testing. • The vendor must provide a 55-gallon drum of polymer for performance testing at no cost to the city. • The city reserves the right to halt and cancel testing if the submitted polymer causes serious problems in the operation of equipment.
