Newport News Public Schools is seeking qualified firms to perform comprehensive information‑security penetration testing and an operational framework review. The contract will assess the district’s network security posture, identify vulnerabilities, and provide recommendations for remediation and improvements to the security architecture. This effort supports the school system’s need to protect student and staff data and to comply with applicable cybersecurity standards. • Perform external and internal network penetration testing against identified assets. • Conduct vulnerability assessments and produce detailed findings reports. • Review and evaluate existing security policies, procedures, and controls, delivering a framework assessment with remediation guidance. • Provide a final report summarizing risks, remediation priorities, and actionable recommendations. • Offer optional post‑assessment consulting to assist with remediation planning.
