Description

The City of Shoreline is seeking a consultant to provide in-lake phosphorus inactivation treatment services and associated water quality monitoring for Echo Lake. The project aims to reduce the frequency and intensity of algal blooms in the lake. The selected consultant will be responsible for preparing a treatment plan, applying the selected phosphorus sequestration products, and monitoring the lake's water quality. The project is expected to last for 2 years, with an option to renew for an additional year. • The consultant will be responsible for preparing a dosing plan and treatment design for a whole-lake or sediment-inactivation application using lanthanum-based products and/or buffered alum. • The consultant will assist the City in obtaining and maintaining coverage under Ecology's Aquatic Plant and Algae Management NPDES General Permit. • The consultant will provide the City with treatment plans and schedules with sufficient lead time to complete required public notifications. • The consultant will apply the selected phosphorus sequestration products carefully to protect aquatic life throughout the treatment process.
