Curbside Recycling Collection Services

The City of Ames is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide Curbside Recycling Collection Services. The services will include furnishing carts and collecting recyclables from residential and commercial customers. The contract will be for a period of at least 60 days from the closing date and time of the Request for Proposal. The City will pay the firm for all eligible customers, whether they opt out of the services or not. The firm will be responsible for removing the cart for any customer who opts out of the Curbside Recycling Collection Services. The firm will also be required to offer recycling services to commercial customers in Ames and invoice the commercial customers directly. • The firm must provide a detailed proposal outlining their experience, qualifications, and approach to providing the services. • The firm must include a fee proposal that includes all costs associated with providing the services. • The firm must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. • The firm must provide a plan for handling items left outside of the cart. • The firm must provide a plan for staging areas and compensating the City for access. • The firm must provide color options for the City to consider. • The firm must maintain and report the number of rejection notices. The City will evaluate the proposals based on factors such as experience, qualifications, approach, and price. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities.
