Seasonal Mowing and Trimming Contract Waterford Landfill

The Town of Waterford is seeking a vendor to provide mowing and trimming services at the Waterford Landfill, located at 85 Miner Lane, Waterford, CT 06385. The contract is for a three-year period, with two mowings and trimmings per year, one in mid-May and one in late September. The contractor will be responsible for inspecting the site prior to each mowing and trimming, and for notifying the owner of any settlements, burrows, nesting birds, or bald areas. The contractor must also perform all work in accordance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations, and must provide equipment such as tractors, mowers, and power hand trimmers. • The mowing and trimming area is approximately 18 acres of grass, with slopes ranging from relatively flat to 1V:2.5H. • The contractor must take extreme care to avoid scalping or chipping the tops of the existing berms with mower blades. • The contractor must also cut vegetation down to the top of the rock in rock-lined drainage ditches and drain pipe openings. • The contractor is responsible for participating in an inspection with the owner prior to commencement of work, and for indemnifying and holding harmless the Town of Waterford against any claim or liability arising from the mowing and other contracted activities.
