Description
The County of Arlington is seeking a contractor to conduct an aerial drone survey to estimate deer populations across all non‑federally managed and non‑high‑density urban areas within county boundaries, followed by comprehensive geospatial data analysis and mapping. The work will involve flight planning, drone operations, data capture, processing of imagery into GIS layers, and delivery of a final report with population estimates and recommendations for wildlife management.
• Perform drone flights over designated survey zones while complying with FAA regulations and local ordinances.
• Process high‑resolution aerial imagery to produce orthomosaics, digital elevation models, and GIS layers that identify deer presence and habitat characteristics.
• Analyze geospatial data to generate population estimates, distribution maps, and actionable insights for county wildlife officials.
• Deliver all raw and processed data, methodology documentation, and a final analytical report within the contract period.
• Provide a brief on‑site briefing or virtual meeting to discuss findings and answer stakeholder questions.
