The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a comprehensive rehabilitation of the Claiborne Pell (Newport) Bridge. The work includes partial‑depth and full‑depth deck rehabilitation, joint and expansion‑joint replacement, structural steel painting, compression‑link replacement, elevator refurbishment, installation of access towers, suspender‑rope replacement, and full‑bridge traffic‑control systems, with an expected start in December 2026 and completion by June 2030. This large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary bridge project requires expertise in concrete rehabilitation, structural steel work, traffic management, marine/over‑water construction, and stringent environmental and Buy‑America compliance. • Partial‑depth deck hydro‑demolition and full‑depth joint rehabilitation across western approach and pier 1E. • Replacement of 7 compression links, painting of all steel components, and full bridge‑wide traffic‑control movable barrier system. • Installation of two access towers, elevator rehabilitation, and replacement of all 30 suspender ropes. • Mandatory compliance with hazardous‑paint handling, archaeological monitoring, ship‑wreck avoidance zones, and performance/bond guarantees.
