Description

The City of Waterbury’s Department of Water Pollution Control is soliciting proposals to perform closed‑circuit television (CCTV) and multi‑sensor inspections of large‑diameter sanitary sewer pipes (18‑in to 72‑in) that are difficult to access and have not been previously inspected. Approximately 20 miles of critical sewer lines will be examined to assess condition, locate defects, and provide data for future asset management. Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. is assisting with technical oversight.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $3,000,000

Based on industry benchmarks, CCTV inspection of large‑diameter sewer pipes typically costs $10–$30 per linear foot, depending on depth, access method, and sensor complexity. For roughly 20 miles (≈105,600 ft), the total contract value is likely between $1 million and $3 million. The lower bound assumes basic CCTV video only; the upper bound reflects extensive multi‑sensor data collection, GIS integration, and comprehensive reporting.
