The Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) is seeking information from vendors that can provide an Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) system for Ontario International Airport (ONT). The solution must use the USGS ShakeAlert signal to alert passengers and employees via PA, intercom, visual/audible alerts, ADA‑accessible message boards, radios, VoIP, etc., and must be capable of triggering automated protective actions (e.g., stopping escalators, closing gates, shutting down utilities). Vendors must describe system architecture, integration with existing airport infrastructure, scalability, accessibility, cybersecurity, testing, maintenance, training, and provide budgetary cost estimates. The RFI is part of California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) EEW Airport Grant Program and will inform a future procurement.
• Target: Ontario International Airport, a medium‑hub serving 6.4 M passengers/yr.
• Desired capabilities: public alerting, ADA‑compliant messaging, automated shutdown/slow‑down of critical systems.
• Required information: technical description, prior deployments, implementation timeline, integration details, cost ranges, qualifications (must be a USGS ShakeAlert Technical Partner).
• Submission deadline: 19 Nov 2026, electronic via OpenGov.
• No contract will be awarded from this RFI; it is for market research only.
