MASSACHUSETTS CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS MASS MUTUAL CENTER Mass Mutual Center Lutron Lighting Upgrades (S21) The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed general bids for S21 MassMutual Center Lighting Control System Upgrade at the Administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on October 28, 2026, immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly. The S21 MassMutual Center Lighting Control System Upgrade will replace and modernize the existing Lutron lighting control system primarily serving the convention center and event spaces within the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The project will include replacement of obsolete lighting control equipment, upgrades to select lighting fixtures and dimming controls, associated electrical and low-voltage infrastructure modifications, and associated firestopping and ceiling restoration. Based on a prior feasibility study, the project will utilize a sole-source Lutron control system retrofit solution to maximize reuse of existing infrastructure and significantly reduce implementation costs compared to a complete system replacement. The project is intended to improve system reliability, maintainability, and long-term operational performance while minimizing disruption to facility operations. All as more fully set forth in the Drawings and Notes. A pre-bid conference will be held on October 14, 2026, starting at 10:00am at the MMC located at 1277 Main Street Springfield, Massachusetts. Enter the building at the Box Office entrance on Bruce Landon Way. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walk-through of the site. Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, a general bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost of $1,861,000 and for the following category of work: Prime Contractors – Electrical Each general bid must also be accompanied by a Contractor Qualification Update Statement. Bidding procedures and award of the contract will be in accordance with the provisions of Sections 44A through 44J, inclusive of Chapter 149 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Each bid shall be submitted and will be considered in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and other Contract Documents and shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the value of the bid. The Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids if it be in the public interest to do so. The Authority reserves the right to cancel this procurement at any time without liability to any bidder or other party. The successful general bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and also a labor and materials or payment bond as set forth in the bid form.
