Description
The King County Library System is seeking a qualified general contractor to execute a full interior renovation of the 22,600‑sq‑ft Kent Library. The library will be closed for the duration of construction, and the contractor must deliver demolition, new partitions, ceilings, finishes, restrooms, accessibility upgrades, and comprehensive upgrades to structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire‑protection, low‑voltage, and life‑safety systems. Coordination of owner‑furnished library shelving, furniture, and technology is required, as well as all testing, inspections, permits, and close‑out documentation to deliver a fully operational facility. The project budget is estimated between $3.25 M and $3.9 M, with a contract time of five months after notice to proceed. The bid process is conducted entirely online via the OpenGov portal, with no pre‑bid meeting or site visit, and a submission deadline of 10 AM on 2 Nov 2026.
