The US Air Force is seeking market information from qualified vendors for the purchase of an OMAX 55100 AbrasiveJet. The machine will be used by the Metals Technology Section at Luke AFB, AZ, to support the F-35 workload. The requirements for the machine include a specific footprint, work envelope, material support slats, noise level generation, cutting speeds, linear accuracy, and drives. The machine should also meet certain electrical and pump requirements. The Air Force is looking for vendors who can supply the machine and provide maintenance and support services. • The machine should have a footprint of 15’1’’ L x 8’9’’ W x 10’ H. • The work envelope should be X Axis - 8’4’’, Y Axis – 4’7’’, Z Axis (with motorized Z-Axis) – 8’’. • The material support slats should be 4’’ x 1/8’’ galvanized steel and support weight up to 400lbs / sq ft. • The noise level generation should be below 80 dBA at one meter. • The cutting speeds should be 180 in/min. • The linear accuracy should be + - .001’’. • The drives should be closed loop, digital drives with brushless servos.
