Diesel & Unleaded Mechanic On-Call Services

Topeka Public Schools is seeking a contractor to provide on-call mechanic services for its fleet of diesel-powered school buses, work trucks, and support vehicles, as well as supplemental support for unleaded vehicles. The contractor will be required to provide all necessary labor, tools, diagnostic equipment, and service vehicles to perform maintenance and repair services. The contract will be for a term of one year with four additional one-year renewal options. The contractor must meet certain minimum qualifications, including having certified diesel mechanics with valid credentials and a minimum of three years' experience servicing school transportation or equivalent heavy-duty diesel equipment. • The contractor will be compensated at a fixed hourly rate with a standard markup on parts and materials. • The contractor must respond to non-emergency work requests within 48 hours and emergency requests within 2 hours. • The contractor must provide detailed invoices, including labor hours, parts used, and equipment serviced. • The contractor must comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to safety, environmental protection, and labor practices.
