Description

The State of Iowa is seeking bidders to provide Water Treatment Chemicals and Services to the Capitol Complex. The goal is to maintain a high-quality chemical treatment and service program to maintain peak operating efficiencies and minimize maintenance and equipment replacement. The successful bidder will be required to provide all chemicals, training, equipment, and testing supplies, including water sampling and analysis and water testing kits. The contract term will begin on 07/01/2026 and end on 06/30/2027, with the option to renew for up to five annual extensions. • The bidder must conduct an initial water analysis of all systems and provide recommendations for remedial action. • The bidder must provide a liquid chemical system to align with existing equipment. • The bidder must provide treatment to prevent scale, corrosion, and oxygen pitting on the waterside of each boiler. • The bidder must ensure the formation of scale and/or oxygen pitting does not occur on the boilers' internal parts. • The bidder must maintain sufficient sulfite residuals in each boiler to prevent oxygen pitting. • The bidder must add chemical treatment to steam boilers using an electric automatic proportional feeder pump. • The bidder must utilize all existing feed and control equipment whenever feasible and replace probes as needed. • The bidder must provide a service plan that includes monthly chemical testing and monitoring of all treated systems and associated control parameters.

Budget estimate

$125,281 – $626,405

Based on the sales history provided in the document, the average annual budget for this contract can be estimated. The sales history from FY2020-2023 was $180,851.86, and from FY2023-2026 was $69,710.34. Taking the average of these two figures, we can estimate the annual budget to be around $125,281.10. Therefore, the total budget for the contract term of one year would be approximately $125,281.10. However, considering the contract term and potential extensions, the total budget could range from $125,281.10 to $626,405.50 over five years.
