Description
The United States Air Force intends to award a sole-source contract to Delta Scientific Corporation for the procurement of one mobile crash barrier, specifically the MP 5000 model. The barrier is required to support the Malmstrom Air Force Base, where two other MP5000 barricades are already in use. The contract will include the basic structure, hydraulically operated mobile surface mounted barrier system, and other components. The system must meet ASTM F 2656-07 M40 standards.
* The contract will be for a single MP5000 mobile crash barrier.
* The barrier must be able to stop a 15,000-pound vehicle traveling at 50 miles per hour.
* The system will include a quick deployment mobile barrier assembly, hinged rigid crash plate assembly, and trailer hitch assembly.
* The contract may include additional options, such as a remote open/close push button station and a booster pak.
