Description

The State of New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a qualified contractor to provide annual preventive‑maintenance, inspection, certification, and related support for a suite of laboratory containment equipment (biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, glove boxes, laminar flow benches, PCR hoods, balance enclosures, HEPA banks, and air‑balancing systems) in its BSL‑3 Scientific Laboratory Division in Albuquerque. The contractor must supply NSF/ANSI Std 49‑certified technicians, perform one full site inspection per fiscal year, and bill for labor, a discount on parts, retest fees, and travel charges. The agreement is a fixed‑price, two‑year contract with up to four optional two‑year extensions. • Annual on‑site inspection and certification of listed lab equipment per NSF/ANSI Std 49 and related industry standards. • Pricing required for labor (hourly), unit inspection fee, percentage discount on parts, retest fee per equipment piece, and daily travel charge. • Contractor must provide technician certifications, W‑9, and any applicable New Mexico resident‑preference documentation; health‑coverage required if employee threshold is met.

Budget estimate

$400,000 – $1,000,000

No contract ceiling is disclosed. Based on typical state preventive‑maintenance agreements for a BSL‑3 laboratory (covering dozens of cabinets, hoods, and associated systems), annual labor rates often range from $150‑$250 K, parts‑discount revenue adds $30‑$80 K, and travel/retest fees contribute another $20‑$50 K. Over the mandatory two‑year base term, total vendor revenue could realistically fall between $400 K and $1 M, depending on labor rates, volume of equipment, and negotiated discount levels.
