RFI: PARAMETRIC INSURANCE POLICY

The State of South Carolina’s Department of Administration is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather expertise on parametric insurance policies. The agency seeks input from private insurance carriers and entities with experience designing, underwriting, and issuing parametric insurance products, especially those that have been deployed at the state or regional level. Responses will help the department understand market capabilities, pricing structures, risk modeling techniques, and implementation considerations for potential future procurement of such policies. • Target respondents: insurance carriers and providers experienced with parametric insurance at state/regional scale. • Goal: collect technical and commercial insights to shape a future insurance solution for the state’s risk management needs. • Deadline: questions must be submitted by August 7 2026; full RFI responses are due by August 21 2026.
