Description
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking proposals from financial institutions to provide a liquidity facility for its Commercial Paper (CP) program. The CP program finances a portion of the costs of MBTA projects on a short-term basis. The MBTA is looking for a bank to provide a $150 million liquidity facility that will expire on June 24, 2026. The bank will receive a bank bond securing any draws on the liquidity facility, which will be parity with Subordinated Sales Tax Bonds. The MBTA expects to continue to use CP for its interim capital financing needs and plans to permanently finance CP with long-term MBTA revenue bonds or with RRIF/TIFIA loans.
