Description
The City of Vallejo is seeking a professional engineering consultant to lead the planning, design, permitting, grant‑application support, and construction‑phase services for the comprehensive upgrade of the Mare Island Causeway Bridge Control System. The consultant will conduct inspections, produce a rehabilitation recommendation report, design and specify control‑system refurbishments, manage remote‑operation capabilities, coordinate required permits, assist with federal grant preparation, and provide full construction‑administration support through closeout. This effort includes environmental compliance (NEPA/CEQA), public outreach, and integration of Caltrans‑identified structural repairs.
• Conduct field inspections and produce a full assessment/recommendation report for bridge‑control system upgrades.
• Prepare and submit technical support for federal grant applications that will fund design and construction.
• Design, specify, and administer construction of the upgraded control system, remote‑operation, balancing machinery, and related mechanical/electrical components, plus ongoing construction‑admin support.
