Description:
The Albany County Fire District #1 is seeking proposals to furnish up to two new firefighting water tenders with a capacity of 3000 gallons or more. The tenders should have a pump with a minimum flow of 750 gallons per minute at 150 psi, and be able to prime and pump water from a 10-foot lift at 7000 feet elevation. The tenders should also have a front bumper cab-controlled rotating monitor, a mount for a 5-inch hard suction hose, and external cabinetry. The vendor should provide basic apparatus orientation and training, and deliver the tenders by April 30, 2026. The proposal should include the proposed costs, delivery date, and any exceptions to the specifications. Some key points to note: • The tenders should meet Federal, state, and agency requirements for motor vehicle safety standards. • The vendor should provide a detailed description of the apparatus, including the estimated in-service weight, wheelbase, and principal dimensions. • The apparatus should be designed to allow for routine maintenance checks without the need for special tools. • The vendor should provide certification of the pump's suction capability and hydrostatic test. • The proposal should include a statement of warranties, if any, for the vehicle. Some of the key evaluation criteria include: • Ability to deliver apparatus that meets the specifications • Suitability and interoperability of the tender with the existing fleet • Ability to meet the budget and value requirements • Ability to meet the schedule requirements • Experience and qualifications relevant to the sale, modification, and manufacture of fire apparatus.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$400,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the cost of similar firefighting water tenders. The cost of a single 3000-gallon water tender can range from $200,000 to $500,000, depending on the specifications and features. For this project, the Albany County Fire District #1 is seeking up to two tenders, so the total budget could be between $400,000 and $1,000,000. However, the actual budget will depend on the proposals received and the negotiations with the selected vendor. Factors that may influence the budget include: The complexity of the tender's design and features The materials and equipment used in the manufacture of the tender The vendor's experience and reputation in the industry The level of competition among vendors The District's budget and funding constraints.
