Hemmens Cultural Center Lobby Interior

The City of Elgin is seeking a qualified consulting firm to design and provide full construction documents for the renovation and upgrade of the lobby of The Hemmens Cultural Center. The project includes interior design, carpet replacement, repainting, and refinishing of existing surfaces. The selected firm will work with HCC and city staff to design the addition and provide construction documents for soliciting competitive bids from general contractors. The project is expected to be completed in three phases, with a total duration of 120 days. • The project involves the renovation of the lobby, including new carpet, paint, and redesign of curved walls. • The project also includes the conversion of the original box office to a production control room, the will-call room to a merchandise sales area, and the coatroom to a bar. • The selected firm will be responsible for preparing construction documents, including architectural drawings, structural drawings, and mechanical/electrical drawings. • The firm will also be responsible for attending pre-bid meetings, preparing and distributing addenda, and tabulating and qualifying bids. • The project requires compliance with the City of Elgin's Affirmative Action Ordinance and Sexual Harassment Ordinance.
