Large Scale Non-drop-in Alternative Fuels Based Resources and Infrastructure

Description of goods to services to be bid: Development, scale-up, and demonstration of large-scale, non-combustion alternative fuel-based energy systems and supporting infrastructure in New York State, including hydrogen and other non-drop-in fuels, covering integrated production, storage, distribution, and end-use systems that improve cost, performance, safety, and scalability for industrial and grid-support applications. If changes are made to this solicitation notification will be posted on NYSERDA’s website at:www.nyserda.ny.gov/funding-opportunities Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences: This solicitation aims to support the development, scale-up, and demonstration of large-scale alternative fuel-based energy systems and supporting infrastructure optimized for safe, cost-effective, and scalable deployment of non-drop-in fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia within New York State. This effort directly supports NYSERDA’s objectives to advance decarbonization in hard-to-electrify sectors and enable reliable, zero-emission energy solutions for industrial and grid-support applications. The proposing entity does not need to be based in or currently operating in New York; however, demonstration projects must occur within New York State at an eligible site, and the proposed solution must demonstrate technical feasibility, system integration, and compatibility with New York’s regulatory, safety, and operational environment. At a minimum, the proposing team should consist of the following: - Technology developer with demonstrated expertise in the proposed system- Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm or equivalent system integrator (for demonstration projects)- Host site owner/operator located in New York State (for demonstration projects)- Relevant partners supporting fuel supply, infrastructure, or system integration, as applicable Proposals must clearly align with the objectives outlined in this solicitation. Proposers must include a complete and detailed scope of work addressing all required elements, including technology development or demonstration activities, system integration, technoeconomic analysis, and quantified performance and emissions outcomes.
