REFUSE, RECYCLING COLLECTION AND HAULING SERVICESS

The City of Sun Prairie is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors for Refuse and Recycling Collection and Hauling Services. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing refuse and recyclables collection services to residential units within the City, including curbside collection, disposal, and recycling. The contract term will be for five years, commencing on January 1, 2027. Key responsibilities include: * Collection of refuse and recyclables on a regular schedule * Providing all necessary labor, equipment, and materials * Maintaining accurate records of collections and disposal * Cooperating with the City in education and enforcement efforts to prevent contamination of recyclables * Providing customer service and responding to complaints * Maintaining a local office and telephone service for customer inquiries and complaints Some key points to consider: * The City has a local vendor preference, granting a scoring preference to local suppliers * The contractor must have at least 7 years of verifiable experience in curbside collection of refuse and recycling * The contractor must have an established place of business within 40 miles of the City * The City reserves the right to extend the contract for an additional year, upon mutual agreement * The contractor will be evaluated based on a weighted point system, considering factors such as qualifications, experience, cost, sustainability, and local preference
