Description
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is seeking a consultant to design a new 7000 square foot women's shelter in Emmonak, Alaska. The existing shelter is undersized and at risk due to its proximity to the eroding bank of the Yukon River. The consultant will work closely with the Emmonak Women's Shelter to design a shelter that meets their needs, including a security system, fencing, arctic entry, and office space. The consultant will also perform a structural assessment of the existing shelter to determine if it can be moved to a new site.
Key points to consider:
• The consultant will provide project management, title record research, surveying and utilities research, geotechnical investigation, and permitting services.
• The consultant will develop sealed drawings and specifications for the project.
• The consultant will ensure that the design meets all applicable codes and standards, including the 2021 International Building Code and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• The consultant will provide a project schedule and track progress.
• The consultant will attend meetings with the Emmonak Women's Shelter and ANTHC staff.
