Notice of Intent to Sole Source - USAPT Pyro Gerb Sticks

The United States Army Parachute Team (USAPT) intends to award a firm fixed price requirements contract for USAPT Pyro Gerb Sticks. The contract will be for 30 second, silver droopy, gerb sticks with an electric 72-inch straight matchstick that is not attached to the gerb and not coiled. The gerb sticks must include the gerb cap. The gerb shall be 6” x 0.9” rolled paper tube which emits hundreds of silver sparks for a duration between 28-32 seconds. The length of throw shall be approximately 15’ wide x 20’ long from the end of the tube. The key aspects of this opportunity include: • The contract is for a specific type of pyrotechnic device, the "Silver Droppy" Gerbs, which are used during nighttime aerial jumps by the USAPT "Golden Knights". • The devices must meet specific requirements, including a 6" x 0.9" rolled paper tube that emits hundreds of silver sparks for a duration of 28-32 seconds. • The contract will be awarded to the sole manufacturer of the specified gerb sticks, Garden State Fireworks, Inc. • The delivery date for the gerb sticks is on or before 1 May 2026.
