Description
The City & Borough of Wrangell seeks a qualified law firm to serve as general counsel on a retainer basis, providing around 15 hours of legal advice per month and handling special matters on an hourly rate. The contract begins after award (expected late August 2024) and runs for an initial year with up to three one‑year extensions, offering up to four years of continuous legal support for municipal operations, ordinance drafting, contract review, litigation representation, and training.
• Provide general counsel services (~15 hrs/month) under a flat monthly retainer.
• Perform special services (foreclosures, union negotiations, etc.) billed hourly.
• Attend at least one in‑person meeting per year and offer annual training on municipal code compliance.
• Contract term: 1 year with optional three 1‑year extensions; termination can occur at any time.
