Description:
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking applications from organizations to host a full-time Climate Justice Fellow for 1 year. The fellow will work on projects related to advancing climate justice and clean energy priorities in Disadvantaged Communities. NYSERDA will fund the fellow’s salary, as well as professional development and/or wraparound services. The total award amount is capped at $40,000 per fellow, and NYSERDA anticipates funding approximately 150 fellowships through 2026. • The fellow will assist with community engagement activities, support clean energy project development and implementation, and facilitate partnership building. • The fellow will work with community-based organizations, universities, municipalities, tribal nations, career technical education (CTE) programs, public libraries, climate tech innovators/start-ups, venture development organizations, and clean energy businesses. • The fellow will participate in professional development support services, including mentorship, peer groups, and skill labs, provided by Columbia Technology Ventures. • The host employer must provide comprehensive employee health benefits to the fellow, and may be required to submit updated documentation to NYSERDA to verify continued eligibility for the program.
