M/V Carteret Credit Dry Dock (CDD) Invitation to Bid

The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division is seeking a qualified prime contractor to perform a comprehensive dry‑dock overhaul of the M/V Carteret Credit ferry. The work encompasses structural steel renewal, corrosion control, mechanical system overhaul, anode replacement, deck and hull cleaning, and extensive testing and certification activities, all to be completed within a tight schedule while the vessel is in dry dock. • Perform bulkhead, deck, and hull steel replacements and corrosion‑resistant coating applications (blast‑and‑paint). • Overhaul major mechanical systems including main engines, propellers, HVAC, sewage, and steering components; replace zinc anodes and service sea‑chests, strainer, and valves. • Conduct full dock‑side services: berthing, lay‑days, shipyard startup, dock trials, sea trials, and final certification of a gas‑free, seaworthy vessel. • All work must comply with Buy‑America Phase 2 requirements (≥55 % U.S. component cost) and be completed by April 30 2027. • Bidders must be pre‑qualified via the NCDOT portal and attend the mandatory pre‑bid conference on September 29 2026.
