YARD WASTE AND WOOD GRINDING SERVICES

The Town of Manchester is seeking a contractor to grind and shred yard waste and wood materials collected at the Manchester Landfill and Transfer Station. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to manage these organic materials in an environmentally responsible manner. The contract term will be from the date of award up to and including December 31, 2027, with an option to extend for four additional one-year periods. The contractor will be required to provide unit prices for the services, and the Town will evaluate proposals based on the most cost-effective methods to manage these materials. Some key points to consider: • The contractor will be working with the Town Sanitation staff to manage collected materials in a timely manner. • The contractor will be required to provide references for similar work and certify that they will pay the required living wage to eligible employees. • The contractor will be responsible for removing shredded land-clearing wood and clean wood from the site. • The contract is subject to the Town of Manchester's Living Wage Ordinance, which requires companies to pay their eligible employees a living wage of $17.78 per hour for employees with comprehensive health care benefits, or $26.07 per hour for employees without comprehensive health care benefits.
