B-52 Radar Pressurization Unit (RPU)

The U.S. Air Force is conducting market research to identify qualified non‑commercial sources capable of repairing, reproducing, and sustaining the B‑52 Radar Pressurization Unit (RPU) (NSN 1280‑00‑898‑3679, P/N 101‑352). The goal is to mitigate supply‑chain risk from a single existing supplier and potentially award a future contract (full or partial small‑business set‑aside). Respondents must demonstrate capability to manufacture high‑reliability electromechanical/pneumatic assemblies, handle classified (Secret) information, and address obsolescence of custom components. The solicitation is an RFI only; no proposals will be awarded at this stage. Responses are due by 16 Sept 2026. • Identify capability to produce the RPU, including two‑stage piston‑type compressor, dehydrator, filters, pressure switches, and relief valves. • Provide evidence of facilities, cleared personnel, and ability to work at altitudes up to 60,000 ft and temperature extremes (‑54 °C to +71.8 °C). • Detail experience with reverse‑engineering, DMSMS mitigation, and qualification testing (leak‑rate, vibration, altitude simulation). • Offer information on small‑business participation, subcontracting plans, and cybersecurity/compliance (DFARS, NIST 800‑171). • Submit capability survey and supporting documentation via email to Lt.
