Johnson Street Bridge Replacement and Public Utilities Relocation

The City of Hollywood is seeking a contractor to replace the existing Johnson Street Bridge and relocate public utilities. The project involves replacing the aging bridge with a modern structure, improving safety, reliability, and long-term resiliency for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. The contractor will be responsible for managing means and methods, minimizing service interruptions, and reducing schedule and interface risk between structural and utility work. Key features of the project include maintaining traffic and pedestrian access in a constrained urban corridor, constructing over an active canal with environmental controls, and relocating critical water and wastewater utilities while maintaining uninterrupted service. The City is seeking experienced Florida-based heavy civil and bridge contractors with demonstrated success on bridge replacements, urban utility relocations, and work over waterways. Some of the key requirements include: • Holding an active Florida General Contractor license • Being prequalified by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) • Having experience with bridge construction and public utility relocation • Providing a means and methods narrative and an emergency management and environmental containment plan • Complying with all permit conditions and regulations • Maintaining a drug-free workplace program • Certifying that the firm is not presently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment, declared ineligible, sentenced to a denial of Federal benefits, or voluntarily excluded from covered transactions.
