The City of Portland is issuing a sole source procurement notice for the replacement of an intertie valve at SE 67th & Holgate. The valve is a critical component of the city's water supply system and requires a high level of quality and functionality to ensure the safety and reliability of the water supply. The valve must be a metal-seated 'true' triple offset torque-seated large-diameter throttling butterfly valve with a compatible AUMA actuator, provided, tested, delivered, and warrantied as a single package unit with NSF-61 compliance certification. The estimated cost of the procurement is $72,919.00. • The valve must have a very-slow cycle time to reduce associated damage from water hammer and/or transient pressure spikes. • The valve must be able to modulate both flow and pressure to accommodate anticipated flowrates which fluctuate between 4,000 - 22,000 gallons per minute. • The valve must provide for in-line seal ring replacement to facilitate future maintenance without valve removal. • The valve must have absolute reliability, proven functionality, and the necessary quality to last for decades with use and years between cycles of operation.
