Description

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) is seeking an engineering firm to provide professional engineering consulting services for the Wrightsville Beach Waterline Replacement project. The project involves constructing approximately 2,100 LF of new 16-inch water main along Pelican Drive to abandon and replace the existing 8-inch asbestos cement water line along Salisbury Street. The selected consultant will provide engineering services including design, permitting, and construction services. The scope of work includes completing the design and permitting, gathering and evaluating available information, performing survey and SUE activities, preparing detailed design and specifications, obtaining necessary permits, and providing bidding assistance. • The project requires experience with water distribution and replacement projects in an active urban environment. • The selected consultant will be expected to complete final plans and specifications in general accordance with the project schedule. • The CFPUA will follow a qualifications-based selection process, and consultants must demonstrate their level of competence and qualification. • The SOQ will be evaluated based on four considerations: project understanding and approach, relevant firm experience, overall staff experience, and record of success. • The firm must meet the insurance requirements, including General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Auto Liability, and Professional Liability. • The selected firm will be notified by telephone and/or email, and the CFPUA reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work and the fact that it involves constructing approximately 2,100 LF of new 16-inch water main. The cost of such a project can range from $1 million to $5 million, depending on the complexity of the design, permitting, and construction services required. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of materials, labor, and equipment, as well as the need for any additional services such as surveying, testing, and inspection.
