The City and Borough of Sitka is seeking a qualified contractor to fully remove, tow, haul‑out, transport, and dispose of six derelict wooden vessels currently in the municipal harbor. The contractor assumes all risk and expense from the point of departure at the CBS moorage and must coordinate disposal at an approved crushing or disposal facility, handling any hazardous materials in compliance with state and federal regulations. The work includes vessel towing, over‑land transport, material segregation, hazardous‑material removal, site cleanup, and final reporting. • Scope: Complete lifecycle removal (towing, haul‑out, transport, disposal) of six wooden vessels. • Responsibilities: Hazardous‑material survey, compliance with ADEC/USCG regulations, full insurance coverage, and delivery of final disposal documentation. • Requirements: Alaska business license, marine/general liability and pollution insurance (≥ $1 M), proven marine salvage experience, and submission of a lump‑sum price per vessel via BidExpress.
