MODIFIED WC-130J RTP APN-241 WEATHER RADAR SUSTAINING ENGINEERING SUPPORT RESEARCH AND SUPPORT TASK

The U.S. Air Force is conducting market research to identify firms capable of providing sustaining engineering, repair, and maintainability support for the modified WC‑130J RTP APN‑241 weather radar. The effort includes engineering studies, troubleshooting, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) resolution, failure‑trend analysis, and on‑site support for developmental testing at Eglin AFB. Government‑furnished equipment (RTP, transmitter, and processor modules) will be provided, and contractors must have access to Northrop Grumman’s proprietary radar software and databases. The anticipated contract will be a 2‑year base period (FY27‑FY29) with a possible six‑month extension, and the RFI response deadline is 23 Oct 2026. • Provide sustaining engineering, repair, and troubleshooting for APN‑241 radar hardware (RTP, transmitter, processor modules). • Perform engineering studies on reliability, maintainability, obsolete‑parts, and DMS issues; support MC‑130J CR‑2M developmental testing (≤400 man‑hours, two engineers, three 5‑day trips). • Must have access to Northrop Grumman engineering data/software and be able to work with government‑furnished equipment at Eglin AFB.
