Description

The City of Cincinnati is soliciting bids for the removal (“elimination”) of five existing pump stations (Barrington Hills, Barrington Hills BLK., Gil Volz, Kildare Crossings, and Kirkridge Acres) and the installation of approximately 9,667 linear feet of new gravity sanitary sewer (8‑ to 18‑inch diameter) to replace the eliminated infrastructure. The work also includes a downstream gravity sewer extension and removal of a bottleneck in the collection system along First Street in Addyston. The project scope covers all labor, materials, equipment, and services required for demolition, site preparation, pipe installation, backfill, testing, and final acceptance. Bids must be submitted electronically through the City’s Vendor Self Service portal, accompanied by a 10 % bid bond (minimum $500). The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with liquidated damages for late completion. The project is funded through the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) and subject to DBE participation goals.

Budget estimate

$2,000,000 – $5,000,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract value. Based on comparable municipal sewer‑line replacement projects that involve demolition of multiple pump stations and installation of roughly 10 k ft of 8‑ to 18‑inch gravity pipe, total construction costs typically range from $2 million to $5 million (including design, demolition, pipe, labor, testing, and contingency). Factors influencing the final amount include site conditions, required traffic control, material prices, and DBE participation requirements.
